Nintendo has released a new trailer for Fire Emblem: Awakening. It’s after the break.

Nintendo has released an overview trailer for Kid Icarus: Uprising. It’s after the break.

Atari announced that RollerCoaster Tycoon 3D was on hold, but they’ve revealed through Facebook that the game will be launching at the end of Spring. It’s not a specific release date, but at least it’s coming soon.

Famitsu magazine has given the near-perfect score of 38/40 to Kingdom Hearts 3D. There’s no word on the specifics of the review yet, but the details shouldn’t take long to leak.

Nintendo has released the first commercial for Kid Icarus: Uprising that is set to air in North America and you can check it out after the break. There will six more of these over the coming weeks.

Nintendo Magazine France has tweeted that Epic Mickey 2: Power of Illusion for the 3DS is set to be revealed next week. The game would seemingly be a companion to the console version of Epic Mickey 2. For now this is just a rumor, but given that a reveal for Epic Mickey 2 has been hinted as coming next week, this could turn out to be true. But we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

The larger sites have started to publish their reviews for Kid Icarus: Uprising and, if you’re not in the mood to read them all, then why not skim through a whole bunch of their conclusions?

EuroGamer (9/10):

…is a strong, pretty game turned into an essential one by way of its surrounding infrastructure. Its weave of systems hauls you back in to replay stages time after time; the sense of progress and acquisition is a powerful, irresistible loop. Most significantly, it reveals a Nintendo we haven’t seen for some time, eager to innovate in ways that will excite its hardcore fans, focusing on competition, struggle and mastery. Reaching for the sky.

Cubed 3 (9/10):

…is not the same game as its NES and Game Boy predecessors, but the end result proves that the changes made are definitely for the better, pressing enough retro buttons to appeal to old school fans, whilst showing how the extras are a result of a true labour of love by a developer with real passion for videogame making.

1UP (B+):

The game’s visuals, aerial combat, and vault of extras far exceed what most portable titles set out to accomplish. It’s just a shame that an overly cumbersome control system makes experiencing these things a bit of a hassle. In many ways, it feels like the developer’s reach far exceeded their grasp — they shot for the stars with the game’s various facets, but not all of them were quite able to make it out of orbit. If you’re willing to suffer through some design flaws, you’ll be rewarded with an immensely deep and entertaining experience that sets many a high water mark for the Nintendo 3DS.

Game Informer (7/10):

…is a series of good ideas that ultimately suffer from its poor controls. There’s a lot to do in the game, and more importantly, I felt compelled to do all of it. As the credits rolled I looked back fondly at the experience, as my hand throbbed along with the music. I’m looking forward to doing more with Pit in the future, just not like this.

Destructoid (5/10):

…is equal parts tremendous and terrible, with a fine line clearly separating the two distinct territories. Unfortunately, since each stage ends on a sour note, the overall emotion one gains is that of bitter disappointment. It’s a game that repeatedly starts strong and ends despicably, and as much as I want to adore it, I ended every session cursing its name. For its humor, its ambition, and its genuinely thrilling flight segments, it deserves a lot of credit. However, everything else it does is a bitter pill to swallow and damages all the genuine good that has been accomplished.

While there are mostly positive reviews, I did bring in a couple that were a bit more damning so you can have a clearer idea of what you’ll be picking up if you do decided to get the game. The main gripe is most definitely the control scheme for when you’re on the ground, which I can understand based on what I’ve played, but the game still sounds like it’s worth playing.

Masachika Kawata, the producer of Resident Evil: Revelations, has expressed interest in making more Resident Evil games for the 3DS, saying:

The incredibly positive fan reaction to Revelations has definitely given me motivation to make another 3DS RE title. I have some ideas in mind. However, I have a lot of other projects that need to be taken care of first. I must admit [that] hearing players say how much they enjoyed Revelations does kind of make me want to forget the other projects and get stuck right into making another RE game for fans to enjoy.

And that’s great to hear. We’ll have to wait and see if anything happens though.

There are new screenshots from Kid Icarus: Uprising after the break, along with a couple of videos. Enjoy
